The product is designed for data exchange over the 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T Ethernet network with equipment equipped with the RS-485 interface, which is made up of the MODBUS network.

EM-483 provides MODBUS server functions for MODBUS client connections over an Ethernet network. The product redirects MODBUS requests from customers to devices on the MODBUS network and returns responses from devices to customers

EM-483 provides:

  • flexible addressing in the Ethernet network (redefined MAC address, static or dynamic IP address)
  • protection of access through the Ethernet network (setting mode password, IP address filter for setting or for connecting to the MODBUS network)
  • different modes of exchange over the MODBUS network (RTU or ASCII, with Chet parity check, odd and without check, wide range of transmission speeds, adjustable delay)
